Painting
Depending on the severity of the repair -The refinishing process is very important. New parts are not bought painted. We buy most parts in primer and create the surface structure of primer layers to closely duplicate the factory layers depending on the make and type vehicle. No one single rule applies to the timing of paint for each part as paint specifications vary between vehicle manufacturers and shop timing may depend on assembly requirements.
Some parts are prepared off the vehicle and some parts and areas are painted as assembled. Some parts are painted multiple times to duplicate the factory appearance or is necessary due to weld damage during installation. The on going refinishing process is completed in our paint and refinishing department.
After completion of the painting in Spraybooths, the vehicle is allowed to cool down from forced air drying at 125 degrees Fahrenheit. Once cooled, the finish is polished in similar manner as a piece of furniture until the visible qualities match the existing panels of the vehicle as closely as possible.
